DETECTOR started in 2019 a new development line with the aim to redefine the current monitoring in quality assurance procedures starting from clinical needs and technology breaktroughts. The company R&D effort is supported by technology transfer and scientific partnerships focused on pushing forward state-of-the-art boundaries.

ELECTROMETER PRODUCTS

The first R&D activity in this field envisaged achieving several technical target like a fA and fC sensitivity signal readout, an isotropic probing capable of overcoming the STEM effect, typical of the most common competitor devices operating in the UV-VIS spectrum. A background suppression as pre-processing technique is just the first step in the data management through the advanced remote control user interaction, typical of our portfolio medical devices.

ELECTROMETER INTERNAL R&D

DETECTOR has a few internal R&D activities dedicated to highly linear, dose rate and energy independent multi-probe electrometer solutions for both HV-bias and LV-bias purposes. Thanks to the know how raised in more than a decade developing radiation detectors, recently expanded to the electrometer filed, DETECTOR offers flexible design choices from the proof-of-concept front-end readout prototyping to an all-in-one product. Control unit, touch screen, independent and low-noise sensor bias architecture, as well as GUI access to a complexity-scalable software and many more customized ancillary components could be properly arranged for a handy and intuitive device, tailored for customer’s needs.

ELECTROMETER TECHNOLOGY TRANSFER

In the field of radiation dosimetry, DETECTOR is approaching a new R&D activity in partnership with the Catania section of INFN. The collaboration framework is related to a Laboratori Nazionali del Sud innovative technology development where both sensor and front-end electronics requires high performances, custom solutions. “Silicon Carbide (SiC) has been recently proposed and patented as a material for the realization of radiation dosimetry detectors. SiC properties, including its high sensitivity, radiation damage resistance and its extremely small sensitivity region, make it an amazing device susceptible to radiation dosimetric applications of direct ionizing radiations.”
